Iluminada is a young Afro-Colombian woman who has visions.
She tries to understand them by writing in intimate diaries.
Her texts are poetry that no one else hears.

Her life on the outskirts of Bogotá, full of difficulties, leaves her no time or space.
She has to be on the defensive and make a living.
Until she meets Juan, a boy who seems to open up another world for her.

But her relationship with a stranger does not sit well with those who control the neighbourhood.
